Gratituous Layout Post, that is. In case anyone missed the fact that it's come into being. I'm already confused by the absence of that neat little 'update journal' link that the old layout had, which is probably a sign that the change is a Good Thing. If the fact that it's nekkid!Anthy wasn't enough. Just to compound the evils wrought upon my language by writing 40sfic and malfils, saw Noël Coward's The Vortex tonight: wonderfully acted, but not the greatest play he ever wrote. Was forced to qualify this statement by guy we went out to dinner with, because he's taking English next year and likes playing devil's advocate. Which, unfortunately, means setting brother and I off on huuuuge great long argument-type-things about What Is Beautiful and What Is True and Stuff (the brother is an absolutist, or at least likes to pretend to be one: I'm overfond of the idea that truth is not what matters, what people think is, which I blame on too much historiography and patchy readings of Practical Ethics). My brother also has no concept of the meaning of 'homoeroticism'. Moron. ^_^ Oh, and, amusing thing: the moment this guy started talking to me alone, and not in tandem with the brother, he brought up his relationship woes in such a way as to invite me to start up with an 'o poor darling, do you want to talk about it?' Because, obviously, being a girl, I'm either the kind of person who's going to want to talk about his emotional life or the kind of person he wants to talk to about his emotional life. I, you see, am a caring and loving person who wants to know about these things. Bah. Does anyone else remember a poem called something like 'the goblin and the mermaid'? She had green pearls, or something, and he wanted them, and it featured the immortal lines "give it me give it me"
"no."
It's stuck in my head and I can't find it anywhere. And it's Fundamentally Important To My 'Ness.
