After a long period of fast, have gorged horrifically on telly. But what else can you do when CNX has finally come to your cable provider and with it a slew of Hong Kong action movies? Heroic Trio, man. The Thiefcatcher is so damn cool. Caught Wings of Honneamise, too: rather slow, but I'd like to see it some time when it's not the early stages of the morning and there's no Michael Shanks appearances in Andromeda to tempt me away (watched 'The Light', or whatever it's called, earlier: ahh, Stargate, back when I actually cared). It seemed pretty ace: great animation, a well interesting conceit, the most intricately detailed fantasy world I've seen in a long time, and the characters so well done. But I think it demands more viewerly concentration than I gave it.

Also saw my first episodes of the new Buffy and Angel series', the lure of Willow coming back, no doubt. To all possibilities of Willow/Anya there is nothing to say but yes. Especially since Anya seems to have surreptitiously become the most interesting character, except possibly of all people Dawn. Everyone else is either too po-faced or too loony - and having an "I'm mad, me!" Villain Of The Week only served to highlight this fact, embarrassingly. Meanwhile, Angel was almost good, which was... faintly wrong. Okay, Fred and Gunn are disturbing (although I get distracted in all scenes involving them by how incredibly thin she is. Has she just never got into the habit of eating a decent meal after those many years of servitude and starvation? Inquiring minds would like to know), and Angel is still the most boring self-obsessed prat ever, but, oh, Lilah and Wesley. Those two could make any series quality.
