First off: go here, download 'by your side'. It's the song I heard in rough trade that made me buy their album, and it's lovelystrangemessy in this beautiful tentative way -- 'tiny field mice singing gospel', is the record label quote on that site, and it's sort of perfect. (they have a song where the backing music sounds like gameboy-tetris and over it their voices falling in cadence together.) Second on: I saw llamas last week! They stared at the dog in a very threatening manner, it's quite intimidating when you're used to happy fluffy little alpacas. Third out: why is latenight weekday cable so alluring? It's all Law & Order and CSI and Farscape repeats and goodness. And the twincestapalooza that is Children of Doom, er, Dune. (esp. with british-boy-who-looks-like-Ephram as Leto Atreides II. maaan.) Fourth away, and with Ephram in mind, I'm reccing lowercase k collected - the bottom set of fics, assorted teen-demographic tv shows, just because they're the ones I've read recently. They're really fun; I love her style. And I can read her Seth/Ryan stuff without going "what the sweet bejesus?", which let me tell you is refreshing. (Even despite the canon the lovely the wonderful Summer, obv, and despite how very very dull I find Ryan who nevertheless makes me think of the mountain goats' 'song of the pigs who ran straight away into the water and did not turn back', or whatever it was called, which is about someone who is from Chino, unlike Ryan, who is not from Chino. Right? Right.) Fifth, and I'm through.
