So, I picked up a new j-boyband magazine the other day (i really want to see the new yamaP and kame-chan - who thinks up these nicknames? - dorama! the dream combo, and a chance to see them in school uniforms! ♥, as the blurb said), and there's this double-page spread of Yuya Tegoshi, out of NEWS, hanging out in Montreal! At the overseas premiere of this film, 'dead run', in which the little muppet stars! Clearly at that Montreal film-fest [info]petronia has been known to attend, which leads me to ask - dudes, has anyone heard of this film? Is there any likelihood of its being any cop?

It took me some tracking down but - no, not the same film fest. There was a bit of an organisational/funding schism early this year, rather long and muddled story, upshot of which is this year there were two "official" international film festivals in Montreal, one right after the other. This one is the "New Montreal Film Festival", the one I managed to get to a couple of showings for was the "Festival du Nouveau cinéma of Montreal". Thus Yuya Tegoshi-san would've been hanging out in Montreal at the overseas premiere of his film while I was in Antwerp packing to go visit you. XDD

As for the film it's by Sabu, so should be worth the watching.

...but but but two FFs is just greedy! I like how the schism worked itself out in francophone v anglophone terms, v nice.

ahaha! Poor timing, that boy. (the article was very 'at seventeen years of age, boy goes overseas!' ah, Japan.)

Maybe it'll come out in the UK some time this side of never, on DVD if nowt else. It sounded quite bildungsromanly; I'd be fairly interested to find out whether Tegoshi can act, too. (He's the one on the date-o dvd who takes you to a game centre and has never heard of the concept of letting the girl win because he is TWELVE. XD)
